Kate Cotching 

Lead Art Therapist, Mental Health Social Worker and Business Owner.

Kate has completed a Masters in Mental Health (Art Therapy) from the School of Medicine at University of Queensland, a Bachelor of Social Work at La Trobe University and a Masters in Art (Visual Art) at RMIT University. She has a passion for bringing visual arts to the community. Kate has been privileged to work with people from a diverse range of backgrounds in the Mildura area, including newly arrived refugees, young families, people recovering from mental illness, students of all ages, and people with disabilities. She has exhibited her artwork throughout Australia and internationally and was a founding member of Gallery F and whitecubemildura.

Kate is a professional member of the Australian, New Zealand, Asia Creative Arts Therapist Association (ANZACATA), the peak professional body for the creative arts therapies in Australia, New Zealand and the Asia/Pacific region. She is also an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Referrals

Fees  – The full hourly rate for Individual Therapy is $170

Medicare rebates for Mental Health Social Work are available with a Mental Health Treatment Plan which can be obtained through your GP. Individuals can access up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year.  Medicare does not cover the full fee for a Mental Health Social Worker and participants will be charged a gap fee of up to $84.00. 

NDIS Participants may use their funding to access Art Therapy. There is currently a wait list for art therapy. Please contact us to discuss.

People seeking therapy through Private Funding can self-refer by contacting us via email or phone.

Private Health rebates for Mental Health Social Work can be claimed through some private health funds, please contact us to discuss.

Individuals seeking therapy who are experiencing financial stress should contact us directly to discuss concessions.

Groups – The cost for tailored groups can vary, the hourly rate is greater than the rate for individual art therapy, and there are additional expenses associated.  An approximation of cost can be provided on request.

Please note that we do not run art classes at Pelican Arts, it is important that the person attending therapy understands that the goal is not to develop their art skills.
